WVS Thailand Hosts International Rabies Workshop

This week, 28 delegates, representing 20 countries in Asia and beyond, met in Chiangmai to discuss their respective rabies control programs in the 2nd WOAH (World Organisation for Animal Health) Mass Dog Vaccination Workshop.

The global WVS/Mission Rabies team of experts came together to share expertise and experience from running large-scale rabies control programs for the past 11 years.

Program participants attended presentations, group discussions, demonstrations and field trips. This included practical sessions at WVS Thailand on animal handling, catching and rabies sampling techniques.

These meetings of stakeholders from many countries are an invaluable tool to share best practices and accelerate progress toward eradicating this terrifying and deadly disease.
