Igor, a stray dog, suffered from a large, ruptured tumour on his back. He was diagnosed with a Transmissible Venereal Tumour (TVT) and was also infected with a tick-borne blood parasite.
Over three months of dedicated treatment, our vets and Igor’s incredible spirit worked together. He successfully recovered from the parasite before we started chemotherapy for the tumour. Slowly, the mass began to shrink until it was completely gone, a miraculous transformation.
Igor’s case proves that TVT can be transmitted so easily through direct contact with the tumour, whether by mating, sniffing, licking, or biting. This is a real risk for stray dogs who are not sterilised.
Sterilisation is the most powerful tool for preventing infectious diseases. It protects not only your own pets but also stray and community dogs by reducing the spread of serious illnesses.
