Sugus Is On The Mend

This delightful young stray recently became yet another traffic victim. In this case, the patient sustained a serious hip injury that caused her a great deal of pain and made it impossible to use her left hind leg.

Our dedicated surgeons performed a delicate procedure called femoral head ostectomy on Sugus, where the top portion of the thigh bone is removed. This was an especially challenging case, due to the severity of the damage. Just a few days after the operation, Sugus is already feeling a lot less pain and is beginning to use her leg again.

In the harsh world of a stray dog, the kind of injury Sugus suffered is not only agonizing, but can be deadly. Without full mobility, she would be unable to search and compete for food or get out of the way of the next speeding vehicle.

Every year WVS Thailand’s doctors help hundreds of animals like Sugus to regain their health. We also perform thousands of birth control surgeries to reduce the number of new strays in our communities. All our work is privately funded and we can’t do it without your support. WON’T YOU HELP US HELP THEM TODAY?
