Saving Samka

Sweet two-year-old Samka is one of the many road casualties who come to the WVS Rescue & Rehabilitation Center. In her young life, she’s already survived at least two serious accidents.

The most recent collision took all of the skin away from the area between her right hind-leg and lower abdomen, and the wound was already severely infected by the time she arrived at the center. X-rays revealed permanent damage to her leg from an earlier accident but fortunately no new leg fractures.

While Samka is already feeling better, she’s far from out of the woods. Controlling infection is going to be the top priority over the next week with this incredibly challenging wound. Once this is accomplished, our vet team can look at surgical options to give her the fastest recovery and the best quality of life possible.

All our lifesaving veterinary work is paid for by private donations. Please support our efforts to heal Samka, and the thousands of other community dogs who need our help, by donating at wvsthailand.org/en/donate/
