Please Keep Your Dogs Safe

Attacks by humans are among the many dangers that threaten the health and safety of free-roaming dogs and cats. The WVS Rescue & Rehabilitation Center sees many such injuries from guns, slingshots, arrows and other weapons, every year.

Tarn, who came to us with two gunshot wounds, will probably survive thanks to the skill and dedication of our veterinary team. But many like him are condemned to a slow, agonizing end, if they’re not killed on the spot.

While stray animals are inevitably exposed to this and many other risks, you can protect your pet, by simply keeping them inside a secure property fence. Even quiet neighborhoods harbor many unpredictable risks for injury or violence for roaming pets. Please don’t take a chance!

Behind every animal we treat and save, is someone like you. Only your support makes it possible to continue our life-saving mission.
