Dumped at dawn

The sight and smell almost took our manager’s breath away, when she looked inside a pet carrier that had been dumped at dawn in front of our clinic. The box contained a large, stinking clump of fur, filth, and excrement. It was impossible to tell which end was which, and the animal at the center of the mass could barely move. It took the entire clinic team two hours to free the little creature from his hairy prison.

Little Giulio, as we call him now, has clearly endured unspeakable neglect and deprivation for most, if not all his life. We are still assessing his medical issues. But he is severely malnourished and terribly frightened and traumatized. He will need quite a while of treatment and rehabilitation until he’s ready for a better future in a loving forever home.

Severe neglect and abandonment of pets are criminal offenses under Thai animal protection laws, and we will turn cases such as this over to authorities for prosecution, whenever possible.

In the meantime, our top priority is to help little Giulio heal and prepare for a better future. Won’t you join us by sponsoring part or all of this poor little man’s rehabilitation? Of course, we’ll keep you posted on his progress.
