Brave "Dikdik"

Life in the streets is tough and road traffic is a constant threat for strays. When Dikdik arrived at the Rescue & Rehabilitation Center our veterinary team discovered that his front right leg was completely destroyed and his left hind hip joint severely damaged.

Our highly skilled surgical team knew that this young dog’s future depended on saving his hind leg. The surgery was successful, but now Dikdik must undergo daily physical rehabilitation treatment to regain mobility.

Fortunately, Dikdik is a fantastic patient and a pleasure to work with. Despite the pain of injury and treatment, he is an incredibly sweet, affectionate dog. He greets us with love and enthusiasm, as if we were his long-lost best friends, whenever we approach. Once his therapy is complete, we are hopeful to find him a safe and loving home.

Every year our veterinary team provides life-saving medical care for hundreds of animals with no other chance to get treatment. We also deliver safe and humane birth control services to thousands more, to reduce the number of stray dogs and cats.
