The ongoing pandemic has created many obstacles for our mission to reduce unwanted litters through mass-sterilization campaigns. While work at our headquarters in Hangdong has continued unabated, with hundreds of strays being sterilized every month, many of our regional outreach projects had to be postponed.
To expand our reach as much as currently possible, we conducted a survey of temples in the greater Chiangmai area. The goal was to identify temple locations with large groups of unsterilized dogs, where we can safely set up remote outreach clinics, while observing all current COVID restrictions and guidelines.
We just launched this new outreach campaign, with Wat Sri So Da as the pilot location. A team of handlers, vet nurses and doctors have set up their tents for the week, and are sterilizing all the resident cats and dogs at the temple and the adjacent community. Here are some images of our team at work, at this beautiful location.
If you would like to nominate a temple in Chiangmai for one of our remote clinics, please send us a message.
